Regarding Aviemore riding, I don't really bother there as it's a bit tame unless you want to venture into the heart of the Cairngorm wilderness. Better to either go to Lecht ski area (30-40 minutes drive away with 2 new tracks and chairlift uplift) or Golspie up north (about 1.5 hours drive) which has an amazing track - it's the single longest climb in UK about 7Km then the most amazing continual downhill run with absolutely everything in it. Other good option are Lernie Red Rock just north of Inverness (45 mins from Aviemore) or Balnain Bike Park (same distance again) ot there is always Fort Bill at about 1.5 hours away (new Red track is ace).
Regards
Mark
